Petra Weather Forecast

Seeing Petra comfortably is best done from January to about May when the climate is more mild. Past May and into the summer months of June, and especially July and August, temperatures become quite hot, often 40 degrees Celsius and higher. During the winter, from November and especially December and January, mountainous areas in Jordan can get surprising cold with heavy rain and occasional snow. Many travellers find that conditions in Petra are best in April and October when both hot summers and cold winters are easily avoided.
