Petra
The Nabatean Kingdom that have existed for centuries and became widely admired for its refined culture, massive architecture and ingenious complex of dams and water channels. Ultimately, the roman emperor Trajan annexed the Kingdom.
Petra is sometimes called the Lost City. In spite of its being such an important city in antiquity, after the 14th century AD, Petra was completely lost to the western world. It was rediscovered in 1812 by the Swiss traveller, Johan Ludwing Burckhardt, who tricked his way into the fiercely guarded site by pretending to be an Arab from India wishing to make a sacrifice at the tomb of the Prophet Aarn.
The main attraction of Petra is naturally the city itself. A one day visit is an absolute minimum, and a week will still leave many areas unexplored. . You can hire a horse or horse carriages to take you from the main entrance through the siq to the Treasury.
